Claire: What do you do?
你做什麼工作?
路人:I work for Google.
我在Google工作。
Claire: As an engineer?
是工程師嗎?
路人:I’m a product designer.
我是產品設計師。
Claire: Can you describe the day to day?
你能描述一下日常工作嗎?
路人:It’s a lot of meetings, a lot of talking to people, talking about trade-offs, debating about features and things like that.
有很多會議,需要與很多人交談,討論取捨,辯論功能和類似的事情。
Claire: How long have you been with Google?
你在Google工作多久了?
路人:Two and a half years.
兩年半。
Claire: And how much do you make, if you don’t mind me asking?
你的薪水是多少,如果你不介意我問的話?
路人:About 450k per year.
年薪台幣1474萬以上。
Claire: How many hours do you work a day?
你每天工作多少小時?
路人:Actually 45 hours a week.

Claire: How’s the culture working?
工作文化如何?
路人:The culture is very cool. When somebody works at Google, the attributes that they exude is to be very Googly.
文化非常酷。當有人在Google工作時,他們展現的特質就是要很有Google魂。
Claire: What does it mean to be Googly?
Google魂是什麼意思?
路人:Googly is being humble and being curious at all times. And being very selfless and respectful, not just to each other, but of the user.
Google魂就是保持謙遜,時時保持好奇心。非常無私的,且懂得尊重,不只是對同事,也要對使用者保持尊重。
Claire: What’s the hardest thing about being a designer at Google?
在Google當設計師最難的是什麼?
路人:Convincing stakeholders and partners for type of features that you want to advocate for.
說服股東和持股人接受你想推動的功能類型。
Claire: Can you give a tip for people who want to prepare for interviews with Google?
你能給想準備Google面試的人一個建議嗎?
路人:Just be yourself. Don’t try to talk like somebody that you’re not or be more charismatic than you are, that’s when you get yourself into trouble.
做自己就好。不用去模仿不屬於自己的講話方式或表現得比你真實自己更有魅力,那樣你就會陷入麻煩。
