整合寫作真題題目(2025年1月真題)

閱讀題目 Reading Passage:

Honeysuckle, a versatile and resilient plant, offers numerous ecological and environmental benefits when cultivated in North America. Experts have identified three primary reasons why planting honeysuckle can positively impact local ecosystems.

First, honeysuckle attracts various animals, such as birds and small mammals, which play a vital role in seed dispersal. Under the moonlight, honeysuckle appears to glow and emits a fragrant aroma, attracting animals to feed on it. These animals consume honeysuckle fruits and, through their droppings, spread seeds to distant areas, facilitating the growth of diverse plant species. This process enriches local biodiversity and helps sustain balanced ecosystems.

Second, the establishment of honeysuckle contributes to wildfire prevention. Honeysuckle helps retain soil moisture and reduces the dryness of surrounding vegetation, lowering the likelihood of wildfires spreading uncontrollably. Honeysuckle can act as ground cover, shielding bare soil and reducing the accumulation of flammable materials like dry grass and fallen leaves. This vegetation cover helps decrease the risk of wildfires spreading. This natural control mechanism could mitigate the devastating effects of wildfires, particularly in dry regions prone to such disasters.

Finally, the fruits of honeysuckle serve as an essential energy source for migratory birds. Honeysuckle berries typically ripen in the fall, coinciding with the time when migratory birds prepare for their journeys. High in fats and nutrients, these berries provide the necessary sustenance for birds embarking on long migratory journeys. Promoting honeysuckle cultivation could thus support avian populations and enhance broader ecological health.

聽力題目逐字稿 Lecture:

While planting honeysuckle might seem like a great idea, some scientists point out that it could actually cause serious ecological problems. They’ve identified three main concerns about its cultivation.

First, honeysuckle grows so fast that it can end up overshadowing other plants. Once its roots are established, the plant’s climbing nature gives it a major advantage in competing for sunlight and resources. This unchecked growth could suppress smaller plants and lead to reduced biodiversity, which would ultimately harm the balance of the ecosystem.

Second, using honeysuckle to prevent wildfires could actually make things worse. Wildfires, as destructive as they seem, play a key role in nature by releasing nitrogen into the soil, making it more fertile. Plus, wildfires can destroy pathogens and pests, cutting down on diseases that affect both plants and animals. So, by planting honeysuckle to stop wildfires, we might actually be disrupting a natural process that helps ecosystems thrive over time.

Finally, the claim that honeysuckle fruits are perfect for migratory birds doesn’t hold up. Even though the berries are packed with sugar, vitamins, and antioxidants, research shows that they don’t have the fats birds need for long journeys. Fat is the most energy-dense nutrient, providing about 9 calories per gram—way more than carbs or protein. Without it, migratory birds won’t have enough fuel for their travels. So promoting honeysuckle could actually lead birds to choose less effective food sources over better ones.

問題:

Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they respond to the specific points made in the reading passage.(2025年1月真題)

👩‍🦱整合寫作美國老師滿分示範範文- 全文(字數:261字)

The reading passage explores the positive ecological benefits of planting honeysuckle in North America, and several reasons are provided to support this argument. Although the argument seems convincing and substantiated, the lecturer casts doubts on it for the following reasons.

First, even though the reading passage suggests that honeysuckle spreads rapidly with the help of animals, the lecturer argues that honeysuckle climbs onto other plants and competes for sunlight. As honeysuckle grows and spreads, it increasingly crowds out native plants, depriving them of essential sunlight. Over time, this results in the decline of other plant species, leading to a reduction in biodiversity within the ecosystem. Therefore, the lecturer’s argument disapproves of its counterpart in the reading.

Second, the reading passage claims that ground covered by honeysuckle is less prone to wildfires. In contrast, the lecturer refutes this by arguing that wildfires have important ecological benefits, particularly in the way they affect the soil. Soil burned by wildfires becomes richer in nitrogen, making it more fertile. Furthermore, wildfires help eliminate pathogens and pests. As a result, planting honeysuckle essentially sacrifices the positive ecological effects of wildfires.

Last but not least, the lecturer identifies a significant weakness in the reading passage regarding honeysuckle’s fruit, which lacks the fat needed by migratory birds. She points out that migratory birds rely on fat rather than sugars or vitamins to sustain long flights. Therefore, fruits from other plants are better suited to provide the necessary nourishment for these birds.

In conclusion, the lecturer casts doubt on the arguments presented in the reading passage, providing concrete counterpoints.

學術討論寫作真題 題目(2025年1月真題)

問題:

Your professor is teaching a class on urban planning. Write a post responding to the professor’s question. In your response, you should do the following:
– Express and support your opinion.
– Make a contribution to the discussion in your own words.

An effective response will contain at least 100 words.

Doctor Gupta:
To solve urban traffic problems, some governments spend money improving roadways, like adding lanes to roads or building new roads, while others spend money building public transport, like buying more buses and building subways. Which might be better?

Paul (student 1):
Adding lanes or building new roads is a quick way to fix traffic. It gives cars more space and cuts down on jams. This is super useful in places where public transport isn’t a good option yet.

Kelly (student 2):
I prefer building subways and adding buses. Getting more people off the roads means less traffic and cleaner air. It’s a smarter long-term fix, especially for big, crowded cities.

👩‍🦱學術討論寫作滿分示範範文1(字數:138字)

Paul mentioned that building new roads can help solve traffic congestion. To add to his point, I believe that constructing roads gives drivers more options, helping to disperse traffic. When most people take the same route, it leads to congestion in the city. By providing multiple routes, the government allows drivers to choose the fastest route for themselves, rather than having everyone squeezed into the same main road. This way, not only will the main roads no longer be congested, but drivers will also save time by taking the shortest route. For example, the Taipei City Government constructed ten elevated roads in the city, allowing residents to avoid traffic lights and crosswalks on surface streets, thus alleviating traffic congestion. This helps people reach their destinations more efficiently and saves commuting time. Therefore, building new roads can improve traffic.

學術討論寫作滿分示範範文2(字數:129字)

I agree with Kelly that investing in improving subways and buses should be the top priority. To add to her point, I believe that fewer drivers on the roads means fewer traffic accidents. Urban traffic problems not only include congestion during peak hours but also accidents, such as running red lights and driving under the influence. Traffic accidents often lead to serious injuries, fatalities, and property damage, and if the government encourages people to use public transportation, the overall societal benefits will significantly increase. For example, after Taichung built a light rail system and increased bus frequencies, the use of personal vehicles in the area noticeably decreased, leading to a reduction in the number of traffic accidents each year. Hence, the government should focus on building buses and subways.

New Cafeteria Policy: Grab-and-Go Meals for Students
To ensure students maintain proper nutrition while balancing their busy schedules, school cafeterias have introduced a new policy allowing food to be taken out. By offering a “grab-and-go” option, schools hope to reduce food waste and support students’ health and well-being. Meals are pre-packaged for convenience, ensuring students can eat nutritious food even on the move. This policy also helps schools minimize financial losses caused by unused meal plans, creating a win-win situation for both students and administration.

聽力題目逐字稿 Conversation

Listen to a conversation between two students

A: Have you heard about the new cafeteria policy? Now we can take food out if we’re in a rush.

B: Yeah, I think it’s a great idea. It could help students avoid wasting money on meals they can’t eat. Last year, I injured my ankle and couldn’t walk to the cafeteria, but I still had to pay for meals I didn’t eat. If this policy had been in place, it would’ve been so much more convenient for me.

A: That’s true. It’s definitely helpful for situations like that.

B: Well, but I’m worried that the process could get complicated. If students have to fill out long forms or go through too many steps just to take food out, it might discourage people from using the system.

A: hmm I see your point. They should make it as easy as possible. What would you suggest?

B: I think it could be streamlined. Maybe instead of filling out forms, students could just write their names or swipe their ID cards. That way, it’s quicker and still keeps things organized.

A: That sounds way more efficient. Overall, I support the idea, but it’s definitely better if they make it simple and easy for everyone to use.

B: Exactly. It’s a great idea, but execution matters!

The campus announcement mentions a new cafeteria policy that allows students to take food out, aiming to reduce food waste and support students’ health and well-being. The man in the listening section partially agrees with this policy for the following reasons. First, he believes it helps students avoid wasting money. He shares his experience of injuring his ankle last year, which prevented him from going to the cafeteria, even though he still had to pay for unused meals. This policy would have been more convenient for him in that situation. Second, he thinks the process needs to be simple. He worries that if students have to fill out long forms, it might discourage them from using the system. Instead, he suggests streamlining the process, like allowing students to write their names or swipe an ID card. This is why he supports the idea but feels it could be improved for efficiency and ease of use.

The Obligatory Relationship
An “obligatory relationship” refers to a unique and essential connection between two species, where their survival depends entirely on one another. In this type of relationship, each species provides critical conditions or resources that the other needs to thrive. For example, certain plants rely on specific insects for pollination, while the insects depend on those plants for food. Without this mutual support, neither species could survive. This interdependence highlights the intricate balance in ecosystems, where some organisms are so closely linked that their existence is permanently tied to their partner species.

聽力題目逐字稿 Lecture

Let’s talk about a fascinating concept in ecology: the obligatory relationship. This is when two species depend entirely on each other for survival—neither can exist without the other. To make this idea clear, let’s dive into the relationship between certain ants and fungi. These ants are like farmers. Inside their nests, they cultivate fungi, which are their main—and sometimes only—source of food. The ants feed on these fungi to get essential nutrients. Without the fungi, the ants wouldn’t have anything to eat, which means their survival is directly tied to this relationship.

Now, what’s in it for the fungi? Well, they rely on the ants to create the perfect growing environment. Ant nests provide shelter, and here’s the interesting part: the ants secrete special chemicals that protect the fungi from harmful bacteria and pathogens. Without this protection, the fungi wouldn’t survive. This relationship is a prime example of how interconnected life is in nature. When one species disappears, the other is at risk too. It’s not just about survival—it’s about teamwork. So, why does this matter? Understanding these relationships helps us protect ecosystems. For instance, if we were to disrupt the ants’ habitat, we’d also destroy the fungi they support, potentially leading to a cascading effect in the ecosystem.

口說第3題 示範答案逐字稿

The reading passage discusses the concept of an obligatory relationship. It defines this as a unique and essential connection between two species, where their survival depends entirely on one another. The professor in the lecture gives a perfect example of this concept. He explains the relationship between certain ants and fungi. The ants cultivate fungi in their nests, which serve as their main, and sometimes only, food source. Without the fungi, the ants wouldn’t survive. In return, the fungi rely on the ants for protection and a suitable growing environment. The ants secrete special chemicals to shield the fungi from harmful bacteria, ensuring their survival. This example clearly illustrates the concept.

08.托福口說第4題真題 TOEFL SPEAKING TASK 4 QUESTION

聽力題目逐字稿 Listening

Aerosol farming, often referred to as aeroponics, is a soil-free agricultural system where plants are grown with their roots suspended in the air. A nutrient-rich mist is sprayed directly onto the roots, providing essential minerals and hydration. This system has become especially relevant in areas with limited access to arable land or where soil contamination poses health risks.

One significant advantage of aerosol farming is its ability to extend the growing season. Traditional agriculture often depends on specific weather patterns, limiting production to certain times of the year. However, with controlled indoor environments, aerosol farming allows for year-round cultivation. For example, crops typically grown only in summer can now be produced during spring or even winter, boosting food availability and profits.

Another critical aspect is its compatibility with environmentally challenging climates. Whether in arid deserts or urban spaces with limited green areas, aerosol farming offers a viable solution. This flexibility not only increases agricultural yields but also reduces dependency on large-scale land use, which can have environmental drawbacks. Additionally, the system is highly resource-efficient. It uses significantly less water than traditional farming methods and minimizes fertilizer runoff, which helps protect surrounding ecosystems. With proper infrastructure, this technique can ensure sustainable food production while addressing global challenges like climate change and population growth.
